This is carried out in accordance with the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government’s guidance led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, and Prime Minister.
In today’s world, with its complex global interests, expanding international, and the growing importance of development , economic and social progress, and diverse international issues, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic missions abroad engage in intensive, continuous, and effective diplomatic work.
Since the establishment of the Department of Foreign Affairs in 1969 and subsequently the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1971, Bahraini diplomacy has played a prominent and active role at the regional and international level. It safeguards the interests of the Kingdom, asserts its sovereignty and independence, strengthens its relations with other countries, and showcases its developmental achievements, historical civilization, and cultural heritage to the world.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs diligently looks after Bahrain’s national interests, monitors the latest regional and international events and affairs, highlights Bahrain’s accomplishments in various political, economic, cultural, and human rights fields, and attends to the affairs of its citizens abroad. This is done in accordance with the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government’s guidance led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister as well as the Kingdom’s constitution and the existing laws and regulations that shape its foreign policy.
The embassies, missions and consulates of the Kingdom of Bahrain abroad serve as an essential element in implementing the Kingdom's foreign policy. They reflect the Kingdom, introduce it to the world, safeguard its interests and express its positions on various issues. They also play a crucial role in fostering economic ties, expanding foreign trade, strengthening strategic relations and partnerships with countries and global economic blocs, attract foreign investments, and introduce Bahraini businesses, activities, and events internationally.
