Issuing a certificate of good conduct

Issuing a certificate of good conduct for citizens of the Kingdom of Bahrain residing abroad, and foreign nationals who have previously resided in the Kingdom, in coordination between the Kingdom's missions and consulates abroad, and the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Evidence at the Ministry of Interior.

Terms of Service

  • (Citizens): Submitting a letter from the employer requesting the certificate or stating its purpose.
  • (Foreigners): The person must have resided in the Kingdom of Bahrain for a period of no less than (6) months on a continuous basis.

Required Documents

  • A letter from the applicant (letter sample).
  • Completing the required form (click here), along with the biometrics approved by the security authority in the country of residence.
  • A recent, clear front-facing colored personal photo, 4×6 in size, with a white background.
  • Statement of the purpose of obtaining the certificate (study, work, immigration,) and the country in which the certificate is to be submitted.
  • A copy of the current and previous passport during residence in the Kingdom.
  • Recent personal photos with a white or gray background.
  • A copy of the Bahraini identity card.
  • A copy of the residence permit.

Submission channels/steps

  • through the Kingdom of Bahrain missions abroad:
    • Go to the nearest embassy or consulate general to submit a request to issue a certificate of good conduct, taking care to bring the required documents, and follow the regulatory procedures for submission.
    • Fill out the service provision form.
    • The application and all attached documents are sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which sends the application and its attachments to the General Directorate of Investigation and Criminal Evidence.
  • Information and e-Government Authority website
      • It is necessary to obtain the electronic key to apply for the service.

    The time taken to complete the service

    • (45) working days if done through the embassy or consulate.
    • The service can be obtained through the website of the Information and e-Government Authority, and the time taken to complete the service may vary according to the availability of the applicant's fingerprints.
