The transfer of the bodies of Bahraini citizens deceased abroad to the Kingdom of Bahrain:

Facilitating the transfer of the bodies of the Kingdom's deceased citizens abroad to the Kingdom of Bahrain for the completion of their burial procedures, in coordination with the Kingdom's missions and consulates abroad.

Required Documents

  • A letter from the deceased's family including the contact numbers of the body's escort or relatives in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
  • A copy of the deceased's passport.
  • A copy of the death certificate / death notification (medical report) certified by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the country of death.

Submission channels/steps

  • Through the Kingdom of Bahrain missions abroad:
    • Head to the nearest embassy or consulate general to submit a request to transfer the body, while making sure to bring the necessary documents and information related to the deceased, represented in his personal data, cause of death, place of death, death certificate, in addition to information about those accompanying him, and information about his relatives in the Kingdom of Bahrain who They will complete the procedures for receiving the body upon its arrival at Bahrain International Airport.
    • The Embassy coordinates with airlines to ship the body and informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (consular services sector) of the citizen's death and the date of arrival of his body.
    • The consular services sector completes the necessary procedure, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, to send a car to transport the body according to the wishes of the deceased's relatives, in addition to informing the Information and e-Government Authority of the death.
