Foreign Minister meets Moroccan counterpart

Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Nasser Bourita, the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, on the sidelines of the sixth session of the Arab-Russian cooperation forum.

The meeting discussed bilataral relations as well as political, economic, and security cooperation.

They emphasised the importance of the deep-rooted relations under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco.

Dr. Al Zayani affirmed Bahrain's support for the Moroccan Sahara, which had been embodied by opening of the Bahraini Consulate General in Laayoune, Morocco, on December 14, 2020.

Bourita commended the Bahraini-Moroccan relations and the mutual keenness to further develop them.

The two ministers welcomed holding the first meeting of the joint Bahraini-Moroccan consular committee in Rabat on December 6.

Bourita confirmed support for Bahrain to host the First International Conference on Consular Work in the first quarter of 2024.

The two ministers discussed the latest developments in the Middle East and the violence in occupied Palestinian territories.

They stressed the need for international efforts to achieve a swift, comprehensive, and permanent ceasefire and prompt, adequate, and safe relief aid entry.
