Foreign Minister participates in Hungarian Diplomatic Academy roundtable

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, participated in the round table meeting organised by the Diplomatic Training Academy in the Hungarian capital, Budapest, on the sidelines of the meeting of the joint economic committee between the two countries. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Hungary, residing in Berlin, Ambassador Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, a number of senior officials in the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a number of experts and researchers from research centers and thinktanks, as well as the delegation accompanying the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting aims to exchange views on contemporary global issues and challenges and discuss possible perceptions to confront them and mitigate their repercussions on the people.

The Foreign Minister spoke about the political, security and humanitarian challenges facing the countries of the Middle East, including regional conflicts, the threat of terrorism and its extremist organisations, and threats that endanger regional security and stability and threaten the lives and interests of the people of the region. He stressed the interdependence of goals and interests between the Middle East and the European Union, since what is happening in the Middle East affects European countries, and what is happening in Europe affects the countries of the Middle East, underlining the need to work for a comprehensive and sustainable peace in the region for the benefit of its people.

Dr. Al Zayani and the participants had a discussion on various issues related to regional security and stability and international approaches to end conflicts and maintain international peace and security.
