Ambassador Dr. Abdulkarim Yousif Bucheeri, Director-General of Legal Affairs and Human Rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador Saeed Al Hebsi, Director of Human Rights at UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, co-chaired the second coordination meeting between the human rights sectors in both ministries, held in Abu Dhabi today.

Ambassador Bucheeri lauded the deep-rooted solid fraternal Bahrain-UAE relations, established by the forefathers and strengthened in all fields under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, becoming a role model for cohesion and integration between the two countries, as reflected in their similar diplomatic stances.

The delegations of the two ministries reviewed areas of cooperation and coordination, as well as future work prospects, in addition to exchanging experiences in the field of human rights, especially at the level of developing national governmental mechanisms concerned with protecting and promoting human rights in the two countries.

They also discussed a set of advanced ideas and proposals regarding the possibility of twinning some human rights activities and initiatives proposed by both sides, especially on the multilateral action platform in Geneva and New York, in a way that contributes to enhancing and highlighting the achievements of the two countries and their advanced record in the field of human rights at important international gatherings.

The latest developments related to the experience of the Kingdom in implementing the projects of the National Human Rights Plan (2022-2026) were presented.

The two sides also stressed the importance of continuing their coordination and joint action to develop the human rights system and the rule of law in the two countries to achieve their common aspirations and goals.
