The Ministry underlines that the Kingdom of Bahrain has a number of independent national mechanisms with the mandate to monitor human rights in the country. The National Institution for Human Rights and the Prisoners and Detainees Rights Commission have conducted unannounced visits to the Reform and Rehabilitation and Center to investigate allegations regarding the conditions of inmates. They reviewed a number of demands made by some inmates and submitted a detailed report to the relevant authorities.
Those recommendations have been responded to positively, based on the ongoing cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and national human rights mechanisms.
The Ministry underscores the importance of respecting the principles of the United Nations Charter, which calls for good neighborliness and non-interference in the internal affairs of countries. It calls on officials in Iran to be more accurate and not to be misled by false information that harms relations between the two countries.
