The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a Round Table on the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA), in the presence of the Under-Secretary for Consular and Administrative Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Mohammad Ali Bahzad, and representatives of the British Home Office and the Embassy of the United Kingdom to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Dr. Bahzad welcomed the guests, stressing the depth of the notable longstanding relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom, and the mutual keenness to promote them in various fields to meet common aspirations, noting that Bahrain being one of the first countries to be included in ETA reflects the strategic partnership it shares with the United Kingdom.

The British delegation also expressed its great pride for the deep friendship between the two countries, appreciating the opportunity provided by the Foreign Ministry to explain the details of this initiative with all parties concerned with the Kingdom. The British delegation also gave a brief presentation on the Electronic Travel Authorisation System (ETA), which is one of the initiatives of the digital transformation of the British government. The ETA process is easy, fast, safe and less expensive. It requires the applicant to upload a face image and answer a number of questions via the British government website or phone app. The applicant then receives the approval within 3 business days.
