Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee, affirmed the keenness of Bahrain on contributing to strengthening world peace, security, and solidarity in providing humanitarian and relief aid and supporting sustainable development goals (SDGs), led by the diplomatic approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

In his remarks on International Human Solidarity Day, the minister also commended the efforts of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in strengthening the role of Bahrain in promoting the values of human solidarity and social justice; which are inspired by its Arab identity, traditions and Islamic teachings.

He emphasised the continuous efforts of the Royal Humanitarian Fund (RHF), led by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, in providing aid for orphans, widows and helping the needy, supported by the Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) in providing relief to afflicted peoples and victims of wars and disasters.

Dr. Al Zayani highlighted the foundations’ humanitarian role by providing food, medical, and relief aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, establishing development projects- such as building schools, residential complexes and hospitals, and treating injured and ill people, in cooperation with international organisations.

The minister said humanitarian aid programmes reflect the vision of HM the King on adhering to the principles of human fraternity and solidarity in efforts that seek to respond to natural catastrophies, and end wars and international conflicts peacefully.

This encompasses supporting the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent and fully sovereign State, with East Jerusalem as its capital; and respect for the rights of all human beings in security, peace, prosperity, dignity, and sustainable development, he added.

Dr. Al Zayani affirmed that Bahrain will continue its foreign policy led by HM King Hamad, supported by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which aims to create a just and comprehensive peace, achieve food and environmental security; combat poverty and epidemics, empower women, and support dialogue and peaceful coexistence.
