Kuwaiti Amir's visit to strengthen bilateral relations: Foreign Minister

Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Foreign Affairs Minister, has affirmed that the unique Bahraini-Kuwaiti relations are based on a long history of love, mutual respect and unity, noting that they enjoy the constant care of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Mishal Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, the Amir of the State of Kuwait.

He expressed the kingdom’s pride in the visit of HH the Amir of Kuwait, as it embodies the depth of the distinguished deep-rooted exemplary relations between the two countries’ leaderships and peoples, stressing that the visit strengthens bilateral relations which are a role model for solid political and security alliance, as well as robust economic integration.

The minister praised the keenness of the two countries’ governments, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Highness Dr. Shaikh Mohammad Sabah Al Salem Al Sabah, to strengthen the joint comprehensive fraternal partnership through activating about 50 memoranda of understanding and executive programmes for cooperation. He also said that they are looking forward to holding the meeting of the Joint High Committee, in its 11th session, in Kuwait.

Dr. Al Zayani affirmed the importance of the Bahraini-Kuwaiti Summit in confirming the wise and balanced diplomatic stances of the two countries’ leaderships and governments.

In this regard, he highlighted the two countries’ keenness to ensure the unity of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), as well as champion just Arab and Islamic causes, the foremost of which is the support for the Palestinian people’s freedom and security, in addition to their right to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He also stressed the two countries’ pioneering regional and global contributions to safeguarding security and peace, ending wars, settling conflicts peacefully, combating extremism and terrorism, promoting tolerance and dialogue, serving humanity and achieving sustainable development goals.
