Undersecretary for Political Affairs: Bahrain is a model in diplomacy of peace, humanity and solidarity

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa praised the wise and balanced foreign policy of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its pioneering role as an effective model in establishing peace diplomacy, international understanding and human solidarity for the good of humanity and coexistence in safety and prosperity, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

During his participation in the first session of the diplomatic forum organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs entitled "Bahraini Diplomacy in 2024: Positions, Priorities and Challenges," he expressed his appreciation and pride for this all-inclusive meeting with the participation of a number of Ambassadors and Senior Ministry officials, in conjunction with the celebration of the Diplomatic Day, appreciating their sincere national efforts and all diplomatic and administrative cadres in protecting the strategic interests of the Kingdom, enhancing its prestigious status regionally and internationally and developing services provided to citizens at home and abroad.

The Undersecretary for Political Affairs expressed pride in the principles of the foreign policy of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which has been based on leaders and pioneers for more than five decades, and has strengthened its leadership, effectiveness and credibility and in promoting regional and international cooperation on the basis of mutual respect, the principles of international legitimacy, the prevalence of wisdom and dialogue in the settlement of disputes, partnership in consolidating international peace and security, dialogue between religions, cultures and civilizations, combating extremism and terrorism, and supporting the goals of sustainable development.

He reviewed the progress made in the implementation of the projects of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its priorities in caring for the interests of citizens and developing political and consular cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries through its diplomatic moves in support of the unification drive of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), strengthening joint Arab action in light of its hosting of the Arab Summit this year, and its enhanced efforts for peaceful coexistence in a secure, stable, prosperous and sustainable regional and international environment, especially with its aspiration to become a non-permanent member of the Security Council, and continuing its leading role in regional and international organizations, in line with the government's program, the strategic plan of the Ministry and the national plan for human rights.

Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa touched on the diplomatic positions of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the current regional and international issues and challenges within the framework of its keenness, under the leadership of HM the King, to establish a just and comprehensive peace and to end unjustified wars and conflicts, including stopping the war in the Gaza Strip, protecting civilians, meeting their humanitarian needs and intensifying efforts to reach a political settlement that guarantees the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent national state, in accordance with the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions.

At the end of the session, senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and heads of diplomatic and consular missions of the Kingdom of Bahrain abroad praised, in their interventions, the wise and effective foreign policy under the leadership of HM the King and the support of HRH the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister, expressing their appreciation for the Royal initiative to dedicate this national day to celebrating Bahraini diplomacy, and affirming their firm commitment to perform their duties in preserving the interests and achievements of the country, developing its Gulf and Arab brotherly relations and making active contributions to the consolidation of regional and international security, peace and prosperity.
